Textile Testing

Textile testing involves testing products found in the textile industry such as cord, fabric, yarn, rope, thread, and woven composites. The most common measurements include peak break strength, elongation, tear resistance strength, and puncture resistance strength. Depending on the product being tested tensile forces can range from less than a pound of force (single strand fabric) to several thousand pounds of force (seatbelts). In most tensile testing applications, it is critical that proper grips and fixtures are used so that pinch forces on the ends of the samples are minimized. United has a large selection of grips and fixtures for textile testing applications which will ensure accurate and repeatable results.
